Election Day: Red, White, and Blue Sangria

First question: did you vote?

Yes? Good!

Now let's celebrate!

I decided to be cute for my election watch night party and make three batches of sangria. Red, white, and blue.

I still have to go and prepare food for my party so I quickly wanted to share with you how I made the three sangrias.

Red: Simply follow the directions for my fall sangria that I posted last week. I pretty much made the same batch since it was a hit with my group of friends.

White: is very simple! Just pour yourself a glass of champagne, fill it up three quarters of the way. Add about a tablespoon of ginger liqueur. {I used Domaine Canton} Finally garnish with a piece of crystallized ginger candy. Yum!

Blue: was a bit tricky to make. The first batch came out green! The second batch I switched to coconut rum  and used less curacao with favorable results.
1 bottle white wine
1 cup of blue curaƧao
1/2 cup of Malibu Rum
1/2 cup of pineapple juice
Garnish with fresh pineapples, strawberries, and red cherries if you wish.

My blue sangria was inspired by Pres. Obama and his Hawaiian heritage. I hope you like it. If you make the blue sangria at home and you modify the recipe I gave you, please share! I am open to ideas on how to improve this recipe!
